Blue Origin has raised $10 billion in its first financing round involving outside investors, valuing Jeff Bezos's space company at roughly $140 billion. The round gives the privately held company fresh capital to compete with SpaceX across launches, satellites and government space programs, and offers a rare public look at its valuation and financial ambitions.

Bezos is contributing another $2 billion to the round, bringing his total investment in Blue Origin to roughly $30 billion since he founded the company in 2000. The financing could ultimately exceed the initial $10 billion target.

The fundraising surfaced financial projections that point to steep growth. Blue Origin generated about $800 million in revenue in 2025 and expects $1.4 billion this year, with projections exceeding $30 billion by 2030. The company employs about 15,000 people and is betting heavily on its reusable New Glenn rocket.

Blue Origin has completed three New Glenn missions to date. Launches have been suspended since a vehicle exploded on a Florida launchpad in May. Future growth is expected to come from launch services, a planned satellite communications business and an AI satellite network.

The capital gives Blue Origin additional resources to challenge Elon Musk's SpaceX, putting the two companies into increasingly direct competition across rocket launches, satellites and government space programs.

The next milestones to watch include the resumption of New Glenn launches following the May explosion, along with the development of the company's planned satellite communications business and AI satellite network.
